About The Erko Hotel
The Erko has been the corner pub on Erskineville Road since 1882, a few minutes' walk from Erskineville Station and not far from Macdonaldtown. It runs as a relaxed local with a beer garden, pool table, trivia nights, a bottle shop and guest rooms upstairs, and dogs are welcome everywhere in the venue. Two areas are set up for functions. The Front Bar is the dressier of the pair, with contemporary fit-out, lots of natural light and room for up to 60, so it works for anything from a birthday to a sit-down work dinner. The Backyard is a semi-covered outdoor space with parasols and heaters that holds 80 standing or 40 seated, and it can be arranged in different ways for family celebrations and birthday parties. Both are semi-private rather than closed off, and the team can help you choose between them. Function food is built around canapés and sliders. Packages start at $30 per person for three canapés, then $40 with a substantial item added and $50 with two, and extra pieces can be ordered on top. Expect raw tuna on toast, goat's cheese tarts, lamb and chicken skewers, polenta chips and sliders filled with fried chicken, beef, fish, eggplant or prawn. Drinks can be a Standard or Premium package for two to four hours, with tap cocktails as an add-on, a bar tab with a spending limit, or a cash bar. There is no cakeage charge.

How much are the canapé packages?

The Standard package, with house wines, tap beer and soft drinks, is $55, $75 or $95 per person for two, three or four hours. The Premium package adds selected wines and spirits for $65, $85 or $105. Tap cocktails can be added for $20, or you can run a bar tab or a cash bar instead.
Can we bring our dog and a cake?
Yes to both. Dogs are welcome throughout the pub, including the Backyard, and you can bring a cake with no cakeage fee. Decorations are fine if they are not messy.
Is the pub easy to reach and accessible?
Erskineville Station is about a three-minute walk and Macdonaldtown Station is also close by. There is street parking, subject to council limits, and the main doors have disabled access.
