About The Courtyard @ Tequila Mockingbird
Tequila Mockingbird is a Latin American restaurant and cocktail bar on Heeley Street at Five Ways in Paddington, set across three levels of a heritage-listed Victorian terrace. The kitchen cooks over wood and flame, with smoky grilled meats, seafood and street-food dishes built around Australian produce, and the bar carries more than 30 tequilas, a dozen mezcals and a good range of pisco. The Courtyard is the largest of the three function spaces. It sits on the ground floor, a covered internal courtyard with hanging greenery, mustard-toned walls, bold artwork and moody lighting, enclosed against the weather and air-conditioned, with seating that looks onto the open kitchen. It seats 28 guests for a long-table dinner. For smaller groups there is also the Upstairs Lounge, with banquette seating for 26 and a balcony over Five Ways, and The Terrace, a 20-seat room with a retractable roof. Groups of eight or more dine from a shared tasting menu at $79 or $99 per person, with each dish sized to the table and adjustments made for most dietary needs when given notice. Drinks can run on a beverage package from $65 per person or on a tab with a limit you set, and favourite wines can be pre-ordered. Exclusive use of a space carries a minimum spend, and a deposit of $85 per person secures a private booking. Private use outside normal trading hours may also be possible from Tuesday to Sunday; ask through the enquiry form.
