About The Botany View Hotel
The Botany View Hotel sits at 597 King Street, toward the southern end of Newtown's main strip. It is a local pub with a bistro, a busy live music program from Thursday to Sunday and regular social nights, spread through a warren of rooms that each have their own look. The venue describes its function offer as covering birthdays, work parties, hens and bucks, and themed or costume parties. The biggest space is the Main Stage and Bar, which holds 185 and comes with a full stage, professional sound and lighting and its own bar, set up for bands or DJs. The Tiki Bar takes 100 with a dedicated bar, tropical decor and room for a DJ or live act, and the open-air rooftop also holds 100 among plants and festoon lights. For mid-sized groups there is the Pool Room with a full-size table and two large TVs, and the Lounge Room, each for 35; the Lounge Room connects to a semi-private Side Alcove and a Cosy Corner. The Green Room and Blue Room each seat 25, and the Purple Room, with its large mirrors, and the Living Room each suit about 10. Most rooms have AV facilities and all are close to a bar. Food comes from Happy Soul Bistro, the in-house kitchen, which serves share plates, schnitzels, burgers, grills, pasta and salads with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, from lunch through to 8:30pm.
