About The Bat & Ball Hotel
The Bat & Ball Hotel is a pub, sports bar and bistro at 495 Cleveland Street in Redfern, with accommodation upstairs for anyone who would rather not travel home. It opens from 3pm early in the week and from midday Wednesday to Sunday, and keeps a bistro menu and a Sunday roast going for walk-ins and table bookings. Larger groups are looked after in the back areas and, on occasion, the bistro. The bistro takes bookings of up to 20 and gives your table the full menu with the glow of the main bar alongside. The pool room holds up to 30, seated or standing, with food available, a pool table, electronic darts and a jukebox that is free to play. The beer garden is the biggest option at 50 to 65 people, mixing seats with standing room; it can be kept for diners only or set up as a smoking area, and it has its own pool table too. There is no fee to book any of these spaces, though each one depends on what else is on. The pub has a catering menu for group bookings, and the process is simple: look over the three areas, then fill in the enquiry form on the Contact and Functions page with your date and guest numbers. Trading runs 3pm to midnight on Monday and Tuesday, noon to midnight Wednesday to Saturday and noon to 10pm on Sunday, which sets the window for an evening party.
