About The Australian Arms Hotel
The Australian Arms Hotel has traded on High Street in Penrith since the late 1800s. The present building went up in 1940 after the first one was knocked down, and it keeps its Art Deco details: curved corners, a central staircase and a chandelier. Downstairs there is a classic front bar with TAB, a bistro serving lunch and dinner seven days, and a garden bar with its own pizza menu. Private functions go upstairs. The first-floor function room sits apart from the main bar, has its own bathroom facilities and opens onto the verandah, so guests can step outside without heading back through the pub. The hotel pitches it for anything from a small private gathering to a corporate training session. If a sit-down meal suits your group better, the bistro can also be booked for functions. The hotel doesn't publish capacities, packages or minimum spends online, so the first step is a message through the contact page or a call to the pub with your date and numbers. Food comes from the bistro kitchen, which runs pub classics such as steaks, schnitzels, burgers and pizza. Parking is straightforward: the hotel has its own car park and Edwards Place car park is nearby, and the hotel lists accommodation among its amenities for guests who want to stay over.
