About Sugarcane
Sugarcane is a South East Asian restaurant at 1/56 Carr Street in Coogee, only moments from Coogee Beach, and it has been part of the local dining scene since 2008. The room has a relaxed, bohemian look, with greenery hanging overhead, timber tables and views out to the ocean, and the menu draws on Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and neighbouring cuisines. For functions there are two main options. The private dining space seats up to 24 guests and can open onto an enclosed balcony that fits up to 18 more, giving room for about 42, with seating and standing areas for a mingling crowd. For larger groups the whole restaurant can be booked for full venue hire. The venue hosts weddings, engagements, corporate events, birthdays, hens parties, product launches, team building and networking events. Functions run on shared banquet packages, which start at $75 per person, and drinks packages begin at $55 per person. The team will tailor the menu and drinks to your group. The regular menu covers bites, raw dishes, curries and larger plates, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes marked and a separate vegan menu. The restaurant is fully licensed and does not allow BYO. It opens for dinner every night, and for lunch as well from Friday to Sunday, so both lunch and evening functions are possible.
