About Sahra by the River
Sahra by the River is a family-run Lebanese restaurant on Phillip Street, Parramatta, with windows facing the Parramatta River. The family behind it has been cooking Lebanese food in Sydney for more than four decades, and the dining room leans into that heritage with carved timber screens, lanterns and Middle Eastern styling. For events the venue offers four options: the Private Room, the main dining area, the alfresco terrace and the whole restaurant. The Private Room is closed off from the main floor and faces the water, seating 60 or holding 100 for a stand-up event. It has a 78-inch LED screen that takes a laptop or USB and a built-in PA, so it works for speeches and slideshows as well as dinners. Taking the entire restaurant covers groups from 30 up to 300, set up as a cocktail party, a seated feast or a mix of both. Food and beverage packages are built around Lebanese banquets, with dessert packages and drinks packages alongside, and the kitchen can prepare vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free dishes. The restaurant is fully licensed. For entertainment, the team can arrange a belly dancer, a henna artist, a fortune teller or Lebanese drummers. Groups can also book a virtual or in-person walk-through of the venue when they enquire.
