About Mjolner Sydney
Mjolner is a restaurant and whisky bar on Cleveland Street, Redfern, styled on the feasting halls of Norse mythology: carved shields, drinking horns, dark timber and brick arches, with each diner handed a knife in a leather roll. The closest train is Redfern Station, and the 352 bus stops on Cleveland Street nearby. There are three ways to book an event. The private booths are two plush booths in their own space seating 10 to 16, suited to birthdays, engagements and hens or bucks dinners. The private dining room, which the venue calls the Feasting Hall, can be booked as a banquet table for 17 to 20, semi-privately for 21 to 28, or fully private for larger groups; the latest events pack puts it at 40 seated. For the biggest events the whole venue can be booked exclusively, holding 80 seated or 100 standing, with the events team setting up the room, canapés and set-menu feasts to suit. Set menus are served share-style for groups of eight or more: Freya at $100 per person, Thor at $125 and Odin at $155, built around rotisserie chicken, short rib, market fish and lamb. Drinks can run on consumption or on a package, with beer at $65, wine at $75 and cocktails at $85 per person, and the bar holds around 400 whiskies for guided tastings. Add-ons include oysters, a bone marrow course, a whisky bone luge and tomahawk steaks. Guests must be 10 or older, and the venue has disabled access.
