About Matteo Double Bay
Matteo Double Bay is a Southern Italian trattoria at 29 Bay Street, styled after the Amalfi Coast with a Mediterranean fit-out. A bright front courtyard doubles as an aperitivo bar, the main dining room looks into an open kitchen, and a roomy back terrace can be shut off from the rest of the restaurant for a private meal. The venue takes exclusive and semi-exclusive bookings. The bar area seats about 30, the back terrace seats about 55, and the main dining room together with the back terrace seats 120. For the whole restaurant, plan on 170 seated or 200 standing, and all tables except the fixed benches can be cleared for a cocktail-style event. Layouts can be adjusted to suit your group. Functions are built around share-style set menus: Classic at $70 per person, Famiglia at $90 and Festa at $110, moving from antipasti and wood-fired flatbread through pasta, pizza and grilled meats to the house tiramisu. Drinks packages run for two hours, at $60 per person for prosecco and wine or $95 with a spritz on arrival, wines, house spirits and lager, and there is a $25 alcohol-free option; they are only offered on semi-exclusive and exclusive bookings, otherwise drinks are charged as consumed. Exclusive and semi-exclusive hire carries a minimum spend on food and drink, agreed at booking. A standard function lasts three hours, with a four-hour extended option. A 10 per cent service charge applies to groups and functions, rising to 15 per cent on public holidays, and there is a $5 per head cakeage fee if you bring a cake.

Nice spot in a cool little neighborhood. The servers were nice and we really enjoyed the pizza and pasta. A bit loud of an atmosphere, but overall a great place for dinner!
