About Carnarvon Golf Club
Carnarvon Golf Club sits on Nottinghill Road in Lidcombe, about ten minutes from Sydney Olympic Park and a short drive from Rookwood. The club runs an 18-hole, par 72 championship course, and its clubhouse takes private functions from the public through a functions team, with an enquiry form on the website. The clubhouse has three rooms that can be hired: the Grandview Room, the Fairview Room and the Horizons Room. The main function room looks out over the fairways, ponds and manicured lawns, and the club handles small gatherings of around 50 through to seated meals or standing, cocktail-style events for 200. Birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, christenings and reunions are all regular bookings, as are weddings, wakes, seminars and training days. For presentations there is AV gear, including a large plasma screen. Catering comes from the club kitchen, with cocktail, sit-down, buffet and banquet menu packages plus Christmas packages; the team sends the current menus on request. Published room hire starts at $150 for the Horizons Room, $250 for the Fairview Room and $500 for the Grandview Room. For drinks, guests can pay their own way or the host can put an amount on the bar, and groups of 40 or more have a $300 minimum spend. Corporate groups can also book a golf day, with packages from $55 per player for a minimum of 50 players, and add a buffet and presentation in the clubhouse afterwards.
