About Captain Cook Hotel Paddington
The Captain Cook Hotel is a heritage corner pub on Flinders Street in Paddington, a short walk from the SCG, Allianz Stadium and the Entertainment Quarter. It pours cold beer, serves pub classics from its bistro and is home to Joe's Pizza Kitchen, which makes Roman-style pinsa from cold-fermented dough. The pub trades Tuesday to Sunday and is dog friendly. There are three spaces for events. The Main Bistro can be reserved exclusively for up to 70 seated or 120 standing; it is a bright room with its own bar, high tables alongside regular dining tables, screens on the walls and a playlist you can set, so it works for sit-down dinners, cocktail parties or a private sports screening. Joe's Dining Room and Courtyard is an indoor-outdoor area around the pizza kitchen and a green laneway courtyard, holding 40 seated or 60 standing. The Nook is a curtained, semi-private corner for 20 seated or 30 standing, with its own screen and audio. Catering is built around packages. The Antipasto Pizza Party runs from $39 to $49 per person for groups of 12 to 50, served grazing or banquet style, while cocktail events can order platters of skewers, sliders, tacos and arancini at $105 or $135 for 15 pieces, plus a sweets platter at $90. Bottomless drinks covering sparkling, white, red, tap beer and soft drinks cost $65 per person for two hours or $75 for three. You can also prepay a bar tab, settle it afterwards or let guests buy their own. A minimum spend is agreed with the events manager, and a deposit of 30% of it secures the date.

The Antipasto Pizza Party is $39, $44 or $49 per person depending on how many starters and pizzas you choose, for 12 to 50 guests. For cocktail events there are platters at $105 or $135 for 15 pieces, which serve roughly 10 people.
Can we have a bar tab or drinks package?
Yes. Bottomless drinks are $65 per person for two hours or $75 for three, or you can prepay a bar tab, settle it after the event, or have guests pay for their own drinks. BYO drinks are not allowed.
How do the deposit and minimum spend work?
A minimum spend is agreed with the events manager, and a deposit of 30% of that figure secures the booking. Final numbers, menu choices and payment are due seven days before the event, and any shortfall on the minimum is charged as venue hire.
Can we decorate the space or bring in a DJ?
Decorations and outside suppliers are welcome with the venue's approval, and you can get into the space up to an hour before the start. Confetti, glitter and anything that sticks to or damages surfaces is not allowed.
