About Botanical Bar & Garden Terrace @ The Royal Leichhardt

The Royal Leichhardt sits on the corner of Norton Street and Carlisle Street in Sydney's inner west. Its upstairs level, known as The Botanical, is run as a separate function floor with its own street entry on Norton Street as well as access through the pub, and there is a lift for guests who need it. The Botanical Bar and the Garden Terrace can be booked as one area for cocktail events of 60 to 130 people. The bar itself holds about 70 standing and has a vintage look with botanical touches and patterned carpet; taking it gives your group exclusive use of the bar and private bathrooms. Next door, the Garden Terrace is lined with plants, has a louvred roof and gas heaters, and fits 40 standing or 30 seated on its own. You can plug a device into the bar's house speakers and TV by HDMI for music or a slideshow, a microphone is available on request, and the venue can book a DJ for an extra fee. Food runs from 5, 7 or 9-piece canapé packages to a shared banquet and platters, and drinks can be arranged as a package or a bar tab with a limit you set. The events team can also organise flowers and balloon styling through their suppliers.

Pricing

There is no published room hire or minimum spend for this space. Canapé packages cost $45 per person for 5 pieces, $55 for 7 pieces and $60 for 9 pieces, with added items at $10 each. The shared banquet is $65 per person with a minimum of 10 guests, and dessert adds $10 per person. Platters range from $75 for fruit to $125 for a grazing board.

Food

Choose from 5, 7 or 9-piece canapé packages with hot and cold items, vegetarian and vegan options, a shared banquet of entrées, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, salmon, sides and a vegetarian curry, or cheese, charcuterie, fruit and grazing platters. Dietary requirements are passed to the chef through your event coordinator.

Beverages

The function pack lists two beverage packages over three or four hours, from $50 per person for the standard option up to $75 per person for the premium option with a wider beer and wine list. House spirits can be added for $20 or $25 per person, and an Aperol Spritz on arrival is $15 per person. Alternatively, set up a bar tab with chosen drinks and a spending limit.

When can we arrive to decorate?

The space is cleared 30 minutes before your start time so staff can reset it, and you are welcome to come in up to an hour early to add final touches. Let your coordinator know if outside suppliers are coming.
