About The Courtyard @ The Lucky Hotel
The Lucky Hotel is a heritage pub on Hunter Street in Newcastle's East End, on a site whose pub history goes back to the Oxford Hotel of the late 1800s. It has a busy main bar, several smaller function areas and 30 boutique hotel rooms upstairs, so out-of-town guests can stay on site after the party. Its largest event space is the Courtyard. The Courtyard is an open-air area under a soaring roofline, with old brick walls, a lush living green wall, hanging plants and a private bar. Overhead cover and heating mean it can be used whatever the season. It holds 200 guests for a cocktail party or 120 seated, and several floor plans are available. Music connectivity, a TV and a multimedia wall handle speeches, slideshows and playlists, and the wedding pack notes there is room for a band or DJ and a dance floor. The Courtyard can be hired exclusively, and it suits wedding receptions, milestone birthdays, corporate events and product launches. For smaller groups the hotel also offers the Drum Bar (80 standing), Ms Lucky (45) and the Naughty Corner (30). The kitchen offers canapés priced by the piece, from haloumi skewers and arancini to bao buns and oysters, plus platters for 10 to 15 people and one-metre pizza boards at $75 each. A sit-down alternate-drop menu is $59 per person for two courses or $79 for three. Beverage packages start at $65 per person for three hours, with premium and deluxe tiers that add better wines, ciders, seltzers and spirits. An events manager handles enquiries and the booking form.
