About Historic Dining Hall @ The Crown & Anchor Hotel
The Crown & Anchor Hotel has poured beers on the corner of Hunter Street and Perkins Street in central Newcastle for more than a century, and the building is heritage classified. Downstairs is a working pub with a bistro, pool table, sport and karaoke; the function hall is upstairs, and the floor above that offers simple guest rooms. The Historic Dining Hall keeps many of the building's original features, with exposed brick walls, tall windows letting in plenty of daylight and room for long banquet tables. It seats more than 120 guests comfortably, and a standing event can take 140 or more. The level has its own full kitchen and bar, so service never has to come up from the main pub, and the hotel's late-trading licence means a reception or party can keep dancing well into the night. The hall hosts weddings, engagement parties, birthdays, christenings and corporate events. Menus are flexible: a full three or four course sit-down dinner served by staff trained in fine dining, or something lighter such as grazing tables for a cocktail-style night. Function packages are available from the hotel, and the functions team handles enquiries and quotes for each event.

Great little rough and tumble country style pub, exactly what we're looking for when we blew in from out of town. Cold beer, good people. Can't go wrong.
