About Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club
Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club sits on its own marina on Hannell Street in Wickham, with the clubhouse looking over moored yachts and across the harbour. Alongside sailing and its Nautica restaurant and bar, the club runs a dedicated functions team for weddings, engagement parties, birthdays, conferences and corporate dinners, and non-members can book. There are six spaces to choose from. Upstairs, the Bridge holds 40 to 70 for cocktails or 20 to 35 seated, and the Retreat takes 70 to 120 standing or 50 to 80 seated. Opened up together as the Bridge Retreat, they host 120 to 250 cocktail guests or 85 to 130 at tables. Outdoors, the Foredeck suits 30 to 60, the Promenade deck 25 to 50 and the Lawn Tables 50 to 70, all cocktail style. Each room comes with a private balcony or deck facing the water and built-in AV, and live music can be booked for Bridge and Retreat events. Catering is packaged. Canapé menus mix small and large items, a pizza station pairs sourdough pizzas with beer, wine and soft drinks, and the banquet menu sets shared mains and sides on each table after a grazing table on arrival. Seated events can take two or three plated courses, and beverage packages run three, four or five hours, or you can run a bar tab instead. Room hire applies to the main rooms, and final menu choices go to the functions team a week before the event.

Is there a room hire fee?
Yes. The Bridge or the Retreat on their own carry a $500 room hire fee, and the two rooms combined carry $1,000.
Can we have live music or a band?
Live music can be booked for functions in the Bridge and the Retreat, although management may decline it if it clashes with a club event or a second function upstairs.
Do we need to be club members to book a function?
No membership condition is stated for functions; enquiries go through the public function enquiry form or the functions team by phone or email.
