About The Nook
The Nook is a creative hub on Progress Street in Mornington's industrial estate, home to private studios, a gallery wall and two rooms available to book. It began as a gallery for local artists and now hosts workshops, launches, markets and private events. The main event room measures 7.3 by 8.1 metres, about 59 square metres, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. It opens to a kitchen and bar area and an outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and stools. The space holds up to 100 people standing. Hire packages are set by event type: hens parties for up to 50, ceremonies and corporate functions for up to 60, and birthdays and engagement parties for up to 80. There is no in-house catering and no oven, so food comes from a caterer, grazing boards, pizza or a food truck parked out front. The team can pass on a list of local suppliers, and the café next door also caters. BYO alcohol is allowed as long as nothing is sold on site and an RSA-qualified bar attendant serves. You can bring your own or add The Nook's bar staff, and security can be arranged at extra cost. Tables, chairs, glassware, a Bluetooth speaker and a projector are included, and you are free to decorate. Events with loud music need to start after 5pm, so send an enquiry to check your date.

How many guests fit in The Nook?
The event room is about 59 square metres and holds up to 100 guests standing. Individual packages cap numbers by event type, from 50 for hens parties to 80 for birthdays and engagement parties.
Can I hold an 18th or 21st here?
No. The Nook does not host 18th or 21st birthday parties, but other birthdays and milestone celebrations are welcome.
Do I need to arrange my own food and drinks?
Yes. The Nook has no in-house catering or oven, so food is brought in by your caterer or a food truck. BYO alcohol is fine provided nothing is sold on site, everyone drinking is over 18 and an RSA-qualified bar attendant serves. You can supply your own or add bar staff when you book.
What comes with the hire?
Bookings include tall round tables, trestle tables, chairs and stools, two armchairs, a Bluetooth Sonos speaker and a projector. You also get the kitchen and bar area with a bar fridge, wine and sparkling glasses, an urn with mugs, and the courtyard.
When is payment due?
Bookings are paid in full 14 days before the event. Cancelling more than 24 hours ahead forfeits half the booking, and cancelling within 24 hours forfeits the full amount, though the team will try to reschedule.
