About Urban Ground
Urban Ground is a garden bar and food truck venue on Lamana Road in Mordialloc, and the home of the Saint Felix gin distillery. It began in 2017 as a plan to turn an industrial lot into green space, and the grounds are now planted with natives and strung with lights. The indoor lounge is climate-controlled, with exposed brick, booths and communal tables for up to 60 seated. It is often paired with the Gin Garden, an open-air space of timber picnic tables and low lounges that holds around 100 guests. The covered food truck pavilion sits beside the trucks, with bench seating and high communal tables, and the function pack puts its seating at up to 200. The working distillery suits 30 to 40 guests for tastings, masterclasses and launches, with its own entrance and restroom, and room hire applies to that space. Across the whole site the venue can take up to 500. Food comes from the food trucks on site, including wood-fired pizza and a chips and churros truck, plus guest trucks on rotation. Groups can preorder from the trucks, the vendors can cover dietary needs and grazing boards are available for distillery events. The venue is fully licensed, so no outside alcohol is allowed, and bar tabs can be set up on the day or in advance, with coloured wristbands so staff can spot your guests. Groups over 25 pay a $10 per person deposit, and a hire fee or minimum spend may apply depending on group size, timing and date. You can bring a cake, which the team will store for free, and decorations are welcome as long as they are packed away afterwards. Send an enquiry to book.
