About Union House

Union House is a pub at 270 Swan Street in Richmond with a public bar, an upstairs dining room and a rooftop terrace. It hosts everything from casual drinks and birthdays to corporate events, engagement parties, hens and bucks nights and the morning after a wedding, and its events team plans functions across four spaces. The Terrace is the rooftop, booked for private hire, with a retractable roof and heaters for year-round use, a mix of seating and standing room, an outdoor TV for the footy or cricket, AV, a private bar and its own bathrooms; it takes 20 to 100 cocktail style. The Back Bar is also privately hired for 20 to 80, with AV, a bar and bathrooms while still feeling part of the pub. Upstairs, the Dining Room is a semi-formal room with a fireplace, AV, table service and an optional private bar, seating 15 to 65 or holding 80 standing. The Public Bar can take 20 to 80 for casual catch-ups with high seating and standing room. Canapé packages are shared, from a chef's choice selection of five items up to a larger hot and cold spread, with extras such as sliders, sweets and platters. Set menus are shared over two courses, with dessert as an option, and a set menu is recommended for seated groups of 15 or more. Dietary requirements are looked after with notice. Minimum spends depend on the space, date and time and are quoted on enquiry, and a $250 deposit confirms the booking.
