About The Loft @ Mt View Hotel

The Mt View Hotel is a sports pub on Bridge Road in Richmond, with a bistro downstairs, a rooftop bar called A Bar Above and four separate function spaces. The 48 and 75 trams run along Bridge Road and stop close to the front door, and West Richmond and Richmond stations are also nearby. The Loft sits on the mezzanine level and has the highest capacity of the pub's four rooms. It holds up to 100 guests for a cocktail party, and the functions page lists seated dinners for up to 80. Guests have access to the second-level bar, and the room mixes high bar tables with lower seating around a pool table. There is a projector and full AV control, so it handles speeches, slideshows or a DJ, and it can be set with tables or left open as a dance floor. For groups larger than 100, a split-level area next door can be added. The pub's other spaces are The Extension, a former laundromat with its own bar and beer garden for 80, and two rooftop areas, Pelaco and the Bridge Rd End. Function food is cooked in-house. Roaming canapé packages run from six pieces at $39 per person to ten at $65, with substantial items an extra $12 each, and seated groups can pick a Greek, Italian or Australian set menu at $65 for two courses or $85 for three (both need at least 25 guests). Charcuterie, cheese and dessert platters are also available. Drinks run on a four-hour package at $70 or $80 per person, or a bar tab with a limit you set, which can switch to a cash bar once it is used up. A minimum spend applies to each space, set according to the time of year.

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit in The Loft?

The Loft takes up to 100 guests standing. The functions page lists 80 for a seated event, while the functions pack quotes 50 seated, so confirm the layout for your numbers with the team. A split-level area can be added for groups over 100.

What food packages are available?

Canapé packages are $39 per person for six pieces, $52 for eight and $65 for ten, with a minimum of 25 guests. Set menus are $65 per person for two courses or $85 for three. Dietary needs such as vegan, gluten free and dairy free can be catered for if you let the team know beforehand.

How do drinks work at a Loft function?

Yes. The room has a projector and AV control, and the pub suggests it for a DJ, with the floor left clear for dancing if you prefer a party set-up over tables.

Such a nice rooftop experience. Went with my wife and parents and loved the pub food! Amazing quality and size. We had a chicken Parma which was absolutely stacked and a slushy alcoholic drink which was tasty.
