About The Kilburn
The Kilburn fills the ground floor of the old Commercial Bank of Australia building on the corner of Burwood Road and Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn. The Italianate rendered-brick building, named for its architect E.G. Kilburn, is listed on the national estate register. Inside it is a modern whisky and cocktail bar, stocking more than 350 whiskies and around 200 other spirits, and it opens from Tuesday to Sunday. The open-plan bar takes functions of up to 200 guests when booked as a whole, with a private bar, private bathrooms, a DJ booth and dance floor, a microphone and PA, cocktail furniture, a dedicated events coordinator and an hour of free bump-in time. The Front Main Bar can be booked exclusively for up to 160, or you can reserve a section of it. The Whisky Room works as a private room for 30 or opens onto the booths for 60 to 70 semi-privately, with a TV screen and your own music, and single booths hold 7 to 10. There is no venue hire fee. Food options run from $180 platters and hors d'oeuvres at $30 per person to grazing stations from $36 per person and canapé packages from $57 per person, which come with full venue hire. Combined food and drinks packages start at $80 per person for groups of 100 or more. Drinks packages cost $70 to $105 per person for four or five hours, and bar tabs and minimum spend arrangements are also available. Self-catering is allowed, you can bring a DJ or playlist, and branding or decorations are welcome.
