About Royal Standard Hotel
The Royal Standard Hotel is a two-storey corner pub at 333 William Street in West Melbourne, on the edge of the CBD. Its kitchen leans Italian, turning out pizza, pasta, grills and seafood alongside pub classics. Inside there are two distinct areas. The restaurant is a European-style dining room with checked tablecloths and a large coastal mural, while the bar next door has a long timber counter and its own menu of bar meals. Either room can be booked for a private function, and the hotel offers exclusive use of the restaurant or the bar without charging extra for it. Packages cover groups from 20 guests through to 150, and the team will put together something custom if no package fits. For stand-up parties, finger food menus start at $18 per person with spring rolls, dim sims, pizza pieces and party pies, rising to $35 per person for a spread with arancini, wagyu sliders, chicken skewers, calamari and penne. A minimum of 30 guests applies to these menus. Seated groups can choose a three-course set menu: shared focaccia, bruschetta and salt and pepper squid, then a choice of mains such as porterhouse, chicken parmigiana or seafood spaghetti, finished with Italian gelati. Platters of antipasto, prawns, arancini and lamb skewers can be added by the tray. Drinks are poured from the pub bar, with tap beer, cider, Australian and imported wines, spirits and a short cocktail list. Send an enquiry to book and talk through numbers, menus and which room suits your group.

Function packages are designed for groups from 20 up to 150 guests. The hotel can also tailor a package if the standard options don't suit your numbers or style.
Is there a room hire fee for exclusive use?
No. The hotel offers exclusive use of either the restaurant or the bar for your function without an additional charge; you pay for the food and drinks you order.

There are three finger food options: $18 per person, $21 per person and $35 per person, each adding more dishes. These menus need a minimum of 30 guests.

Can the kitchen cater for dietary needs?
The menu notes that dishes can be made gluten free on request and that gluten-free pizza bases are available. Let the team know about any allergies when you enquire, as some dishes may contain nuts.

The food is delicious. Serves are very generous. It was quiet as we went there early.

The Royal Standard is hands down one of my favourite pubs in Melbourne. They really do not make them like this anymore. No poker machines, no neon signs or sticky floors just a quintessential corner pub with an old-scho…

Great place with old style Italian food as well as other pub food classics. Can't go wrong. First time here but will be back.

My wife and I eat here one night per week. Living in Docklands, #30 tram to flagstaff gardens and a 5 minute walk down William st. Won’t disappoint.
