About LKF Bar & Karaoke
LKF Bar & Karaoke is on the first floor at 22 Sutherland Street in the Melbourne CBD. Named after Lan Kwai Fong, it pairs a dark, neon-lit cocktail bar with four private karaoke rooms, each themed and named after a Hong Kong neighbourhood. It opens from Wednesday to Saturday nights and runs late, into the early hours on Saturdays. The rooms hold anywhere from 5 to 25 guests. Each has its own audio system, microphones, a screen and climate control, a dedicated staff member looking after the room, and – apart from the smallest – a private bathroom. For a bigger event, the karaoke level as a whole can host up to 145 standing or 100 seated for cocktail parties, hens nights, milestone birthdays and corporate functions. Room bookings run for three hours, with the final half hour set aside for clean-up, and work on a minimum spend covering food and drinks on a single bill. Every guest orders from one of the set menus, and extra dishes can be added from the full menu. For cocktail-style events there are three canapé packages, from bao and spring rolls up to oysters, beef tartare and lobster rolls, alongside two-, three- and four-hour drinks packages. The bar pours Asian-influenced cocktails, local and imported wine, and a long whisky list. Extras such as arrival cocktails, a dessert station, a balloon garland or a saxophonist can be arranged.

Frequently asked questions
How big are the karaoke rooms?
There are four private rooms holding between 5 and 25 guests each. For larger events, the whole karaoke level can take up to 145 standing or 100 seated.
How does the minimum spend work?
Room bookings are three hours and carry a minimum spend on food and drinks, which must all go on one bill. Tuesday to Friday it starts at $900 for 8–10 guests and rises to $2,200 for 19–26; on Saturdays it runs from $1,250 to $3,000. Bookings starting from 6pm onwards attract an extra 20% on the minimum spend.
Is there a deposit?
Yes. A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the minimum spend secures the date, and it comes off the final bill on the night.
What food is served for functions?
Private room guests all choose from a set menu, with extra dishes available. Cocktail events can pick a canapé package at $35, $50 or $70 per person, covering items such as fried chicken bao, duck pancakes, oysters, tempura rockling and lobster rolls.
Can we bring our own drinks?
No – BYO drinks aren't allowed. Drinks packages run for two, three or four hours at standard or premium level, and the bar also sells bottles of spirits that can be stored for up to three months.
