About Playhouse Events
Playhouse Events is a family-run event space at 9 Sloane Street in Maribyrnong. It is hired out as a private venue, so whoever books it has the whole place for the day. The room is designed to look finished even when it is empty. Plastered arches, pale timber floorboards and soft LED lighting set the tone, and many hosts add a backdrop, balloons or styled tables on top. The hire includes 70 chairs, tables, high tables and high chairs, so most parties need no extra furniture. Three large split systems handle heating and cooling, four Bluetooth speakers cover the room, and a bathroom with a change table sits on site. For children's birthdays, the business hires out its own soft play pieces, ball pits and bouncy castles. They are stored away when not booked, which keeps the room clear for baby showers and grown-up gatherings too. There is no in-house catering. Families bring their own food or a caterer, and the kitchenette has a fridge for platters, cake and drinks. The standard booking runs from 7am to 7pm, and a late option extends the event until 11pm. How much does it cost to hire Playhouse Events?
Full-day hire from 7am to 7pm is $659 on Mondays to Wednesdays, $989 on Thursdays or Fridays and $1,264 on weekends. A cleaning fee of $385 is added to every booking.
How many guests can the venue hold?
There is seating and table space for up to 70 people. The comfortable number depends on whether the party is seated or standing, and on how much play equipment is set up.
Can we bring our own food and cake?
Yes. Catering is not offered in-house, so families bring their own food, platters or caterer. A small kitchenette with a fridge is available for preparing and storing food.
Is soft play available for a child's party?
Yes. Playhouse hires out its own soft play range, ball pits and bouncy castles, and they can be set up in the venue so there are no delivery fees. Soft play hire comes with personalised decals, such as the birthday child's name or a themed picture.
How is a booking secured?
A non-refundable $500 deposit holds the date, and the balance is due 30 days before the event. Bookings made within 30 days of the date are paid in full.
