About The Party Room for Kids Glen Iris
The Party Room for Kids is a dedicated children's party venue at 1449 Malvern Road, Glen Iris. It hosts fully run birthday parties for children aged roughly 2 to 12, with younger first birthdays also welcome. Each booking has exclusive use of the room, which is dressed for the theme you pick. Styling covers themed props, balloon garlands, a numbered foil balloon, party lights and music, with more than 35 themes on offer and custom themes by request. The room holds up to 40 guests, usually around 20 children and 20 adults, with a long dining table seating up to 25 children. Parties for children aged seven and over can take up to 35 children with no more than five adults, and an extra host is added for larger groups. Two entertainers and a party host run the program. It opens with face painting, tattoos or nail glitter, then moves through a magic show, dance and music games, bubbles and prizes, with karaoke for older children. Food is prepared fresh in the venue's kitchen and ordered as an extra, with a kids' menu and platters for adults. Themed cakes, cupcakes, cookies, party bags, personalised banners and photography can also be added. How many guests can come to a party?
The room holds a maximum of 40 guests, including up to 25 children and no more than 20 adults. For children aged seven and over, up to 35 children can attend with a limit of five adults, subject to approval.
How much does a party cost?
The package is $998 for a 90-minute party or $1,198 for a two-hour party, regardless of how many children attend. It covers the themed room, two entertainers, a host, face painting, a magic show, games with prizes and digital invitations. Food, cakes, party bags and photography are charged separately.
Can we bring our own food or cake?
Outside catering is not allowed, except for children with severe allergies. You can bring a commercially made cake, which carries a $29 handling fee to cover candles, cutting, serving and packing the leftovers.
What food is available?
The standard kids' menu is $9.95 per child, with fairy bread, fruit, mini sausage rolls, mini pies or margherita pizzas, popcorn and water. Cheese pasties or sandwiches can replace the meat items for vegetarians. Adults can order platters of gourmet sandwiches, fruit and cheese, and hot savouries.
How is a booking confirmed?
A deposit of half the package price, $499 or $599, confirms the date. The balance and catering are paid in the week before the party, and tentative holds are not offered.
