About Mountain Culture Melbourne
Mountain Culture Melbourne is a brewery and brewpub at 148/150 Murphy Street in Richmond, brewing new beers each week and pouring around 20 of them from the main downstairs bar. Alongside the beer there are cocktails and wines, and the kitchen runs a large smoker for brisket, ribs and pork belly as well as pub classics with vegetarian and vegan choices. The venue holds up to 150 people, and on fine days the roof over the main room opens up. Upstairs is the Poolroom, the private function space. It has its own bar pouring 10 beers, a dedicated bartender and wait staff, a microphone and AV, Apple TV streaming and a pool table that can be covered, and you can decorate it, set your own Spotify playlist and arrange specific cocktails with notice. Food can be canapés or a la carte. The Poolroom suits groups of 60 or more, with a minimum spend of $2,500 Sunday to Thursday and $5,000 on Friday and Saturday. For groups in the main bar, packages are built around booked tables. The Feed Me BBQ Plate gives each guest 300g of smoked meats with slaw, mac and cheese and fries, and the Whet Your Whistle package is a two-hour open bar of core-range beers, limited releases under 6%, house wine, prosecco and soft drinks. Upgrades add extra meat, a tasting paddle or a 30-minute brewery tour, and two bundled packages combine the tour, BBQ and open bar. Canapés are ordered in lots of 10, from sliders and party pies to lamb skewers and brownie bites. Packages need to be arranged at least 48 hours ahead, and groups of 20 or more pay a $1,000 deposit that comes off the bill.
