About Moonee Valley Legends
Moonee Valley Legends is the bistro, sports bar and function venue on the corner of Thomas and Wilson Streets in Moonee Ponds, set on the rise of the Moonee Valley Racecourse. Tall windows run along the building, so the bistro, café and function areas all look over the track with the city skyline behind it. The venue trades daily with a bistro, bars, a sports bar with big screens and pool tables, and live music on weekend nights. The main private space is the Terrace Balcony, a fully enclosed room wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass with its own bar. It seats 60 for a meal or takes 100 for a cocktail party, and it is fitted with screens and the venue's own AV set-up for speeches and slideshows; there is also a caged balloon garland stand you can use for decorations. Smaller seated groups can book in the bistro, which takes tables of two to 12 and up to 150 guests across the room, and there is an open-air balcony nearby for photos. Across its spaces the venue caters for groups from 30 up to 300. The kitchen offers both cocktail and seated dining menus for functions, and the team plans around guests' dietary requirements. Each function space has a fully stocked bar with local and imported beer, wine and spirits, and barista coffee is available after dinner. Birthday groups dining in the bistro can bring their own cake without a charge. Function enquiries go through the online form, and the team will arrange a walk-through of the venue before you book.
