About Melbourne Cellar Door

Melbourne Cellar Door is a wine bar, bottle shop and gin distillery on Dukes Walk in South Wharf. Its shelves carry more than 500 wines from small, independent family producers, chosen by the co-owner, who is also the head sommelier. There are three spaces for private and corporate events. The Wine Room takes 35 guests at a mix of high and low tables and suits drinks and cocktail parties. The Lounge Area is the roomiest space, furnished with sofas and a mix of table heights around a bar reserved for the group. It holds 120 for a cocktail party or 72 for a formal seated dinner. Dukes Distillery is a private room among the copper stills, with full AV and a covered outdoor area alongside. It fits 60 standing or 54 seated, which works for product launches, meetings and long-table dinners. None of the spaces carries a room hire fee or minimum spend. Finger food packages start at $28 per person for five pieces plus a bowl dish and pizza, rising to $45 per person with nine pieces and two add-ons, and a sit-down menu and drinks packages are also offered. Groups from 20 up to 600 guests can be hosted across the venue. A wine tasting or gin-making component can be added to an event, and an owner works directly with each client on the plan, so send an enquiry to book.
