Little Black Pig & Sons is an independent Italian restaurant on Burgundy Street in Heidelberg. It sits in the north-east of Melbourne, and the kitchen turns out handmade pasta and seasonal dishes, and private groups can book rooms away from the main dining floor. There are two private dining rooms on the ground floor. The Tuscan Room has windows onto the street and seats up to 30, while the Florence Room sits at the back of the restaurant and seats up to 26. Opened up together, the two rooms seat 50. Both rooms are set for seated lunches and dinners, with a dark, dramatic look in black and gold. A Chef's Table at the open kitchen bar takes six guests who want to watch the cooks at work. Audio-visual equipment isn't supplied on site, but guests can bring their own for presentations. Private functions and groups of seven or more eat from a four-course sharing menu at $110 per person, built around shared antipasti, two pastas, slow-cooked pork belly and desserts such as tiramisu. Parties of one to six can choose a five-course tasting menu at $130 per person, or $195 with matching wines. Drinks can be ordered on consumption, ideally chosen before the event, or set up as a beverage package for groups of 14 or more. The Classic package is $80 per person for two hours and the Premium package is $105. Cocktails can be ordered ahead and brought out together as one round. Outside food and drinks, including cakes and wine, can't be brought in, and vegan guests need 48 hours' notice.
