About Left Bank Melbourne

Left Bank Melbourne is a restaurant and cocktail bar on the river side of 1 Southbank Boulevard, with its entrance at ground level facing the Yarra beside Queensbridge Square. It trades daily from lunch until late, serves a modern Australian menu of small plates, pizzas, pasta and steaks, and runs a dedicated events team for private and corporate bookings. The venue is split into areas that can be booked on their own. The Cocktail Bar holds 60 standing around its own bar, with glass doors onto the promenade. The Terrace comes in three sections that combine to take up to 135 for cocktails, with lounges and retractable awnings, and the Atrium takes 80 outdoors under awnings with river and skyline views. Inside, the main restaurant fits 140 for cocktails and 100 seated, the Main Bar takes up to 80, and the Private Dining Room, a semi-private lounge with leather seating and a gold tiled ceiling, suits around 50 to 70. Function food runs from canapé packages (6, 8 or 10 pieces from $39 per person) to shared tables of six or nine plates and two- or three-course set menus for groups of 12 to 50, with alternate-drop menus for 50 or more. Seated packages must be paired with a drinks package, priced from $44 per person for two hours. Extras include oyster, slider, taco and cheese stations, a doughnut wall and cocktails on arrival.

Canapé packages cost $39 per person for 6 pieces, $49 for 8 and $59 for 10. Shared tables are $50 per person for six plates or $65 for nine (minimum 12). Set menus for 12 to 50 guests are $85 per person for two courses or $95 for three; alternate-drop menus for 50 or more are $75 for two courses or $85 for three. A 15% surcharge applies on public holidays.

Food

The function menus are modern Australian and change with the seasons. Cocktail events choose hot, cold, substantial and dessert canapés, with add-on stations for oysters ($29 per person, minimum 30), sliders ($29, minimum 15), cheese and charcuterie ($22, minimum 15) and tacos ($20, minimum 30), plus a doughnut wall at $8 per person. Seated events can start with canapés or house focaccia. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergy needs are catered for.

Beverages

Silver, Gold and Platinum drinks packages of sparkling, wine, beer and soft drinks cost $44, $55 and $63 per person for two hours, with three- and four-hour options, for a minimum of 12 guests. Upgrades include cocktails on arrival ($15 per person), cocktail jugs ($20), Moët ($26), standard spirits ($18), top-shelf spirits ($28) and beer taps ($7). The venue is fully licensed and does not allow BYO.
