About Ferntree Gully Hotel
The Ferntree Gully Hotel is a pub and motel on Burwood Highway in Ferntree Gully. Private functions are a big part of what it does, spread across three rooms in different styles. Garfield's is the classic option, entered privately through the accommodation reception. It seats 100 or takes 220 for cocktails, with a dance floor, its own courtyard, bathrooms, bar and AV. The Middle has the highest capacity, seating 120 or holding 300 standing, with a stage area for live music or a DJ, plus a big courtyard outside. The Corner Bar is the most intimate at 40 seated or 120 cocktail, with its own entrance, chandeliers, a lounge corner and a disco ball over the dance floor. Cocktail packages run for five hours with attendants, linen, security, platters and an opening bar tab, starting at $1,900 for up to 50 guests. Set menus are $44 for two courses or $54 for three, and carvery buffets cost $49 per adult. Extras include a DJ, photo booth, light-up 21 frame, mesh backdrop and chair covers. Optional extras include a DJ for $750, a digital photo booth for $400, a light-up 21 frame for $150, a mesh backdrop for $100 and cakeage for $50. Corporate day packages are $33 per person for a half day and $45 per person for a full day.

Set menu mains include porterhouse, chicken Mediterranean, barramundi, baked salmon and spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The menus mark gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and allergies should be raised before ordering.

Which room suits 250 guests?
The Middle takes the most guests, up to 300 for cocktails or 120 seated. It has a staging area for performers and a spacious courtyard outside.
How much is a sit-down dinner?
The set menu is $44 per person for two courses or $54 for three, with two dishes per course served on a 50/50 basis. A minimum of 40 guests applies, and a three course kids' menu is $20.
Is there a buffet option?
Yes. Carvery buffets are $49 per adult and $20 for children 12 and under, with a minimum of 40 adults. Garfield's has its own carvery buffet menu, and The Middle and The Corner Bar share a larger spread with roasts, seafood, salads and desserts.
Can we have a DJ?
A DJ can be booked through the venue for $750 for a five hour event. The Middle has a stage area for a band or DJ, and The Corner Bar has Bluetooth music and a dance floor.
Does the hotel host weddings?
Yes – weddings are one of the event types the hotel promotes, and Garfield's is pitched at receptions and private dinners. Chair covers and sashes can be added at $10 per chair.
