About Coolaroo Hotel
The Coolaroo Hotel is a local pub on Maffra Street in Coolaroo, with a bistro, sports bar and seven guest rooms. Its function room hosts birthdays, engagements, weddings, communions and end-of-year parties. The space is called the Barry Maffra Room. It comes with a private bar, its own amenities, a stage, a dance floor, a projector, a microphone, Bluetooth audio and free wifi. Used as one room it takes 300 guests standing or 200 seated, or 120 in cabaret style. It can also be split in half, and the Barry side alone holds 100 standing or 70 at tables. For seated events there are two set menus served alternately, with a minimum of 30 guests. Mains include barramundi, chicken parmigiana, beef lasagne, salmon, rump steak and butter chicken, and children 12 and under have their own meal. Cocktail packages bundle five hours of room hire with platters, a starting bar tab, linen, AV, staff and security. Platter choices run from party pies and quiche to mixed skewers, antipasto, seafood and an Asian selection. On-site parking is free, and the team can tailor the layout and catering to your numbers. Cocktail packages are $2,500 (Silver, up to 80 guests, with a bar tab of $600), $3,500 (Platinum, up to 100 guests, six platters and a bar tab of $750) and $4,000 (the top package, up to 150 guests and two security guards). Extra platters are $90–$120 each, and DJ or live music adds a $350 security fee.
For daytime corporate use the room is $300 hire, or $45 per person for an all-day delegate package.

The two set menus offer entrees such as soup, calamari, arancini or satay skewers, mains from barramundi and parmigiana to rump steak, salmon and risotto, and desserts like pavlova, sticky date pudding and cheesecake. Dietary needs are catered for with notice.

How big is the function room?
The full Barry Maffra Room fits 300 for a cocktail party, 200 seated or 200 in theatre rows. Half the room suits 100 standing or 70 seated.
What set menus are available?
The Gold menu is $40 per person for two courses or $50 for three, and the Platinum menu is $45 or $55. Both need at least 30 guests, and you pick two dishes per course to be served alternately.
What is in the cocktail packages?
Each package covers five hours in the room with platters, a starting bar tab, black or white linen, AV, staff and security. Silver is $2,500 for up to 80 guests, Platinum $3,500 for up to 100, and the top package is $4,000 for up to 150. These packages are for stand-up events only, not seated ones.
Can we have a DJ or band?
Yes. The room has a stage and dance floor, and any function with a DJ or live music carries an extra $350 security fee.
Can guests stay overnight?
The hotel has seven rooms, each with an en-suite, bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a flat-screen TV. Ask the team about a discount for guests when you book your event.
