About Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers
Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers brews beer and distils gin, rum, whisky and limoncello on MacBeth Street in Braeside, and its bar sits right inside the production space. Drinkers sit among towering racks of ageing barrels and copper stills, with 19 taps pouring everything from lagers to barrel-aged stouts, tasting paddles and cocktails made with the house spirits. The bar trades on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with pizzas or a guest food truck on site. For celebrations, the venue takes large group bookings during normal trading hours for up to 80 people, using indoor or outdoor areas depending on what is free and what you prefer; the rest of the bar stays open to other customers. Groups of 10 or fewer can book online, groups of 10 to 24 secure their spot with a credit card, and groups of 25 or more prepay $20 per person, which becomes the group's bar tab on the night. If you would rather have the place to yourselves, exclusive hire is available on Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm and on Sunday from 6pm, with a venue fee and minimum spend quoted according to numbers, day and time. Food is bought from the food truck on the day or from Boatrocker itself, and outside food is not allowed apart from a celebration cake, for which a fee applies – let the team know in advance. Any entertainment for a group booking during trading hours has to be discussed with the venue first. Changes to numbers for larger groups need 10 days' notice for a full refund.
