About Blackburn Hotel

The Blackburn Hotel is a pub on Whitehorse Road in Blackburn, near Blackburn station, with a Grillhouse dining room, a sports bar and a functions team that handles birthdays, engagements and work events. Two rooms are set aside for private hire, and the beer garden can be added for bigger groups. The Atrium Bar has high ceilings and plenty of natural light. It holds 90 guests for a cocktail party or 60 seated, and adding the private beer garden lifts it to 170. The room has its own bar, an outdoor smoking area, two wall-mounted plasma TVs for slideshows, Bluetooth surround sound and a floor that works for dancing. The Private Dining Room sits away from the main bar and seats up to 50, or takes 70 standing; it comes with a projector and Bluetooth speakers. All-inclusive Atrium packs run from $2,000 for 40 to 50 guests up to $4,500 for 90 or more, each with five hours of exclusive use, platters, food and beverage staff, security and a bar tab, and the top pack adds the beer garden and a DJ. Private Dining Room packs start at $1,800. Two-course set menus are $50 per person and three courses $60, for at least 20 guests. Either room can also be taken on a room hire fee, with guests ordering from the Grillhouse menu and the bar, or running a tab with a set limit.

Atrium Bar packs are $2,000 (40 to 50 guests), $2,500 (50 to 70), $3,000 (70 to 90) and $4,500 (90 or more, including the beer garden and a DJ). Private Dining Room packs are $1,800 for up to 40 guests and $2,300 for up to 70. Set menus are $50 per person for two courses and $60 per person for three. Evening functions may need security from $300, and a basic spirit package can be added for $10 per person.

Food

Platters cost from $110 to $150 and include sandwiches, party pies, an Asian selection, sliders, sushi, skewers, steamed dumplings, a vegan platter, charcuterie, cheese, fruit and cakes. The set menu has shared entrées such as karaage chicken and chilli salt squid, mains including barramundi, rump and a pumpkin coconut curry, and desserts such as tiramisu and brownie. Dietary needs can be catered for with notice.

Beverages

A bar tab can be opened with a set limit and raised during the night, or guests can buy their own drinks at bar prices. A basic spirit package can be added to the packs for $10 per person.

Yes. Both the Atrium and the Private Dining Room can be booked on a room hire fee, with guests buying food from the Grillhouse menu and drinks from the bar, or you can set up a tab with your own limit.

Is there a sit-down menu?

A set menu is available at $50 per person for two courses or $60 per person for three, served alternately, with a minimum of 20 guests. Dietary requirements can be catered for with notice.

Are there extra costs for evening functions?

Evening functions may need additional security, starting from $300 on top of the package price. Extras such as a DJ for five hours, a digital photo booth and styling can also be added.
