About Benjys Karaoke Bar
Benjys is an open-mic karaoke bar at 285 Lygon Street in Brunswick East. Rather than small private booths, it runs one shared room with a proper stage and a large screen, and singers queue their songs from their phones and perform to the whole bar. The library runs past 100,000 songs. Out the back is a covered, heated beer garden for a breather between turns. On Friday and Saturday nights it opens to the public from 8pm until 1am with free entry. For parties, the whole venue and beer garden can be booked privately seven days a week for groups of 20 to 120. Sunday to Thursday, a booking gives you three hours of exclusive use for a $500 prepaid bar tab. On Friday and Saturday the venue is yours from 7pm to 10pm, with a minimum bar spend of $1,000 or $2,000 depending on the night; you can pay it all upfront or secure the date with a part payment and let guests' drinks count towards the rest. Karaoke is free for the group, and no booking or cleaning charge is added. Food is BYO: groups can carry in their own or have delivery from Lygon Street brought to the table. The bar pours tap and bottled beer, cider, wine, spirits, cocktails and signature shots. It is strictly 18 and over, and hens and bucks parties are not taken. Birthdays, engagement parties and work nights out are all common bookings, made through the enquiry form or by phone.

How much does it cost to hire Benjys?

Can we bring food?
Yes. Groups are welcome to carry in their own food, or to have meals from nearby restaurants delivered to the bar.
Are hens and bucks parties allowed?
No. Hens and bucks parties are not accepted, and the venue is strictly 18 and over with no exceptions.
Do private bookings get the full karaoke setup?
Yes. The stage, big screen and song library of more than 100,000 tracks are all included, with no extra charge for karaoke.
