About Beneath Driver Lane
Beneath Driver Lane is a basement bar at Shop 3, Driver Lane, in the Melbourne CBD. It is a whisky and blues bar with no windows, lit by candles, with booths around the room and a back bar holding more than 500 whiskies. Live blues plays Thursday to Sunday nights, and the licence runs until 3am. The bar takes functions of 10 to 120 guests and can be hired in full any night of the week. Half the venue suits up to 60 for work drinks, birthdays or cocktail parties, while full hire gives your group the whole room for up to 120, with the option of a live blues band and the venue's AV. A full HD projector is available for presentations. For very small groups there is the Whisky Vault, a private tasting for up to five guests led by the bar's whisky team. Drinks are sold as three-hour packages that can be extended: standard at $65 per person, premium at $85 with a welcome cocktail and house spirits, and luxury at $125 with Champagne, premium spirits and a dram of whisky. Food comes from the in-house chef or outside providers depending on the event, and dietaries can be catered for. Extras include a Champagne tower, rounds of mini cocktails, grazing tables, styling and private masterclasses in whisky, classic cocktails or martinis. Venue hire pricing is given on enquiry.
