About Action Karaoke
Action Karaoke is a private karaoke lounge on the first floor at 242 Little Bourke Street in the CBD, reached by stairs or a lift from street level. It has more than 15 private rooms, each fitted with a large 4K screen, wireless microphones and its own sound system, and a song catalogue of tens of thousands of tracks in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese and more. Rooms come in four sizes. The small rooms seat up to 8 with a 55-inch screen, medium rooms take up to 12 around a curved sofa, and the large rooms fit up to 20 with tiered seating, twin displays and stage lighting with smoke effects. The VIP suite, decked out in black and gold with an 85-inch curved screen and surround sound, takes up to 40 guests with table service. Evening sessions run from 8:30pm to 4am. Instead of a hire fee, each room carries a minimum spend for the night – $390 for a small room, $590 for medium, $890 for large and $1,590 for the VIP suite – and that spend goes on food and drinks. Soft drinks and a snack platter are included, and food runs from edamame and tempura prawns to wonton soup, noodles and fried rice until late. For birthdays the team can arrange balloons and flowers, a cake with sparklers, a welcome cocktail and a host for the room; for business groups there is a charcuterie board and flexible start and finish times.
