About TRAPT Bar & Escape Rooms
TRAPT pairs escape rooms with a fully licensed cocktail bar, tucked down a staircase at the corner of Lonsdale Street and Niagara Lane in the Melbourne CBD. Each game gives a team 50 minutes inside a multi-room story, and the whole visit takes around an hour before everyone heads back to the bar. The six rooms are graded so groups can work their way up. Mutiny, a pirate treasure hunt for up to eight players, is the gentlest start, while Return to Wonderland and A Sweet Escape are pitched at seasoned puzzlers who enjoy a real struggle. Nobody is truly locked in, and a hint screen in each room lets the game master nudge a stuck team along. For bigger occasions the venue runs several rooms side by side with staggered starts, comfortably handling close to 40 players an hour. Function packages can add canapés and drinks for groups of 20 or more, smaller groups can run a bar tab, and pizza can be delivered from the place next door. Private hire of the venue is possible on most days outside Friday evenings and Saturdays. Between games, the bar keeps a cocktail list, board games and a tabletop mystery played at your table. As a licensed venue it is 18-plus, and younger players must come with a parent who joins the game. Send an enquiry to book a room or ask about a group function.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a TRAPT escape room cost?
Rooms are priced per player and get cheaper as the team grows: $55 each for two or three people, $45 for four to six, and $39 for seven or eight. Larger weekday group bookings have their own rates.
How many people can play at once?
Each room holds between two and eight players depending on the theme. Across all six rooms the venue can take close to 40 people an hour, running back-to-back sessions for bigger groups.
Can under-18s play?
TRAPT is a licensed venue, so guests need to be 18 or over with proof of age. Younger players can only attend with their own parent, who must play alongside them.
Can we get food and drinks for a group?
Groups of 20 or more can add beverage and canapé packages, with food ordered a week ahead. Smaller groups can open a bar tab, and pizza can be delivered from the neighbouring pizzeria.
Is the venue accessible?
The bar and rooms are in a basement reached only by stairs from Lonsdale Street, so the venue is not wheelchair accessible. The rooms are fine for pregnant guests, though some are quite dark.
