About EscapeXperience
EscapeXperience runs three escape rooms on the first floor of 38–40 Eaton Mall in Oakleigh – look for the red door. Each game lasts 60 minutes, and your team works through a chain of puzzles, riddles and locks to get out before the timer runs down. A short introduction comes first and a debrief follows, so plan on a little longer than the hour, and aim to arrive about 15 minutes early. The rooms vary in style and difficulty. Amnesia drops players into a locked room in 1947 with no memory of how they got there, and it is the gentlest of the three for newcomers. Burlesque sends the team undercover to look into a string of disappearances behind the glamour of a 1920s show, and it is the one room that takes up to eight people. Clockworks, built around a mysterious invention, is the hardest. If a puzzle has you stumped, the game master will feed you hints to keep things moving. Groups planning a birthday, team-building session or work function can book more than one room, and the venue offers facility hire with catering for parties of 15 or more. The rooms are pitched at adults and players aged 16 and up; younger players need a paying adult with them, and under-fives can't play. Phones and cameras stay outside the rooms, but there is a chance for photos once you escape.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can play in one room?
Clockworks and Amnesia take teams of two to six, while Burlesque can fit up to eight. Bigger groups can split across rooms, and facility hire with catering is offered for 15 or more.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is per player and drops as the team grows – from $65 each for two people down to $47 each for six. Burlesque teams of seven or eight pay $43 and $40 each.
Can children play?
The rooms are designed for adults and recommended for 16 and over. Under-16s must play alongside a paying adult, a facilitator can be booked for $80 plus GST per room, and children under five aren't allowed in.
How long should we allow?
Each game runs for 60 minutes, plus a brief intro and debrief. Arrive at least 15 minutes ahead, as late arrivals lose game time and lateness isn't refunded.
How do we find the venue?
The entrance is a red door on Level 1 at 38–40 Eaton Mall, Oakleigh, close to Oakleigh Station. There is plenty of street parking nearby, plus parking beneath Oakleigh Central.

Tackled Amnesia with my husband. Didn’t complete it but had a ton of fun. All of the puzzles were satisfying to solve, and when we were given the answer (when we caved), was still impressed by the design of them. Lore wa…
