About Strike Bowling Melbourne Central

Strike Bowling Melbourne Central takes up a corner of level 3 in the Melbourne Central shopping centre, so the train station is directly beneath it. The venue is built around a run of ten-pin lanes with dim lighting and a strong sound system, and it adds a laser tag arena, two escape rooms and augmented darts for groups that want more than one game. A cocktail bar and kitchen sit alongside, turning out pizzas, burgers, share plates and snacks. The two escape rooms each take two to six players aged 15 and over. Shutdown is the easier one, a tech-themed story about rebooting a hijacked artificial intelligence, while The Old Haunt is a medium-difficulty ghost story set in a creaky abandoned mansion. They make a good second round for a birthday group once the bowling scores are settled, or a way to split a big team into smaller squads. For parties, Strike sells set packages for adult groups of eight or more. The entry level covers a game of bowling, and the bigger options add a reserved area, a host, finger food and one or two hours of house beer, wine, cider and soft drinks. Kids are welcome until 8pm with an adult, and there are separate kids party packages for groups of ten or more. After 8pm everyone needs valid ID and must be 18 or over. Bowling shoes come with the game, though flat, closed-toe sneakers are fine too.
