About Rush Escape Game South Yarra
Rush Escape Game's South Yarra venue sits at 160 Toorak Rd, though groups go in through the Osborne St side at number 147. It holds six escape rooms designed and built by the company's own team, often with local artists and restored vintage set pieces. Three of them – Cluemanji, Monsterz and Game of the Dragon – are colourful quests with nothing scary in them, open to every age. Secret Agent Man is a quick-fire spy job pitched at teens and adults, HackSaw: Chapter 2 borrows the mood of the Saw films, and It's Nightmare is a true horror room for players 15 and older. Each room takes two to six players for a 60-minute game, and the whole visit runs to about 90 minutes once you add the briefing and a photo debrief. Groups too big for one room are split across several running at the same time, up to all six here, so a hens night, a 30th or a work social can turn it into a contest of who gets out first. No experience is needed and nobody is ever actually locked in. Kids' parties work from about age 10, with Monsterz and Cluemanji the easy picks for younger players. Under-14s need an adult in the room, and when five or six children play together that adult goes in free. Weekday team-building sessions are quoted per room. Afterwards, the bars and restaurants of Toorak Rd and Chapel St are close by for dinner or drinks, and the venue asks groups to save the drinking until after the game.
