About Rush Escape Game Hawthorn
Rush Escape Game Hawthorn sits at 606 Glenferrie Road, right among the strip's shops and eateries, with three rooms that each run for 60 minutes. Allow around 90 minutes on site once you add arrival, the briefing and a photo debrief at the end. Every room takes two to six players, so a party of up to 18 can play in the same slot, and anything larger can be scheduled in back-to-back waves. The three rooms couldn't be more different. HackSaw is Saw-inspired trap horror, suggested for ages 16 and up and involving tight spaces, though its puzzles sit mid-range for difficulty. Strangest Thing is an 80s-style monster hunt that is eerie rather than frightening, and it is the toughest puzzle room in the building. The Nine-Nine is a bright, comedic detective heist with nothing scary in it, which makes it the natural pick for kids' birthdays from around seven. That spread suits mixed groups: the horror fans can take on HackSaw while everyone else plays a lighter room next door, then the whole party regroups afterwards. There are no live actors, the door is never locked, and staff can raise the lights, lower the volume or brief players ahead on request. Companion Card holders play free. A tram stops at the door, Glenferrie Station is a short stroll away, and there is free street parking in the surrounding streets.

Frequently asked questions
Which Hawthorn room should we choose?
HackSaw for genuine horror (16 and over), Strangest Thing for the hardest puzzles with a spooky edge, and The Nine-Nine for a scare-free comedy game that suits families and first-timers.
How much does it cost?
Standard prices run from $74 each for two adults down to $70 each for a team of six. Live prices for every time slot appear in the online booking grid.
How big a group can you host?
With two to six in each room, as many as 18 people can play together across the three. Larger groups can be run in back-to-back sessions – email the team to plan the schedule.
Can children play?
Yes. Under-16s can play as long as an adult joins them inside, and at least one adult is needed when booking for children. The Nine-Nine suits kids from about seven; HackSaw is recommended for 16 and over.
Is there anything to know before booking HackSaw?
HackSaw uses confined spaces and restraint as part of the game, so anyone who is genuinely claustrophobic should pick Strangest Thing or The Nine-Nine instead. You can leave any room at any moment.

Went today with another friend while I visit from Sydney. This has to be one of my favourite escape rooms between both states. I’m a huge fan of the Saw franchise and HackSaw stayed true to the vibe of the first film. We…
