About Earthrise One
Earthrise One is a small, locally run escape room studio on the first floor of a Church Street building in Richmond. It runs two sci-fi experiences, both written from scratch, and each takes a crew of two to six players. The room that shares the studio's name puts your team aboard a space station that is coming apart, with an hour to repair it and piece together what happened to the people on board. It has mild horror touches, and one player needs to crawl through a short passage. The team suggests five players as the sweet spot. Star Crew runs for 75 minutes on the bridge of a starship. Each player takes a post such as captain, pilot, engineering, science or tactical, and the story branches on your decisions, so there is more than one ending. There are no padlocks or random number codes, as every puzzle follows the logic of the ship. A live game master runs each game and steers the characters and hints to suit the group, which helps when first-timers are mixed with seasoned players. For birthdays and team outings, plan on about 80 minutes including the briefing and photos at the end. Players under 15 need an adult with them, the entrance is up a flight of stairs with no wheelchair access, and the rooms use fog, flashing lights and loud sound effects.

Frequently asked questions
How many players can join one game?
Each room takes two to six players, and groups of four or more are suggested for newcomers. Extra crew can be added up to six players for a flat $60 each, paid at the venue.
How long should we allow?
Earthrise One runs for 60 minutes and Star Crew for 75 minutes, so allow up to 80 minutes on site with the briefing and photos. Arrive 15 minutes early, as games are cancelled without a refund once a group is more than 15 minutes late.
Is there an age limit?
Players aged 15 and over can play without supervision. Younger players need an adult with them, who signs a waiver on their behalf, and a family pass covers two adults with two to four teens aged 12 to 17.
Is the venue accessible?
The studio is on Level 1, up a flight of stairs, and the building has no wheelchair access to that floor. The Earthrise One room also needs one team member who can crawl through a short section.
What should we wear and bring?
Comfortable clothes work well, and high heels aren't allowed on board. Bags and belongings stay in your group's private waiting room while you play, so there is nothing to carry in.
