Wedding DJ Melbourne is an agency that books DJs, MCs and acoustic singers for wedding receptions and nothing else. The bar to join the roster is high: performers need at least five years of wedding gigs, and most have more than ten. The line-up includes DJ/MCs such as Ari Touron and Ben Curcio, MC Peter Mystikos, and singers Mitch Fontaine, Katty Liz and Paul Rawk, some of whom also play guitar or move behind the decks later in the night. Music spans 80s and 90s classics, early-2000s tracks, R&B and hip hop, house, rock, country and current hits, and couples can ask for styles outside those. Bookings start with music-selection and planning sessions. Owner and talent manager Lee Cassidy, who has close to 20 years in weddings, can help shape the run sheet in a pre-planning video call, and on the night the DJ handles entries, first dances and the move from one genre to the next. Six packages are published, from a DJ with sound to a full three-performer line-up, and travel within Melbourne is included. How experienced are the performers?
Nearly all of the talent has more than ten years of wedding work, and the agency does not take on performers with under five years of wedding experience.
What does the $950 package include?
Sound equipment hire and set-up, music-selection and planning sessions, and a DJ set of up to five hours. Basic MC duties can be added at extra cost, and more DJ hours are available.
Can we have live music during pre-dinner drinks?
Yes. An acoustic singer can perform three 40-minute sets during drinks, canapes and entrees, on their own or as part of the Singer & DJ or The Works package.
Is there help with the run sheet?
Yes. Owner and talent manager Lee Cassidy has close to 20 years of wedding experience and can help build your run sheet during a pre-planning video call.
