About Married to the Groove
Married to the Groove is a wedding DJ business set up by Josh Parish, who bought his first decks at 18 after watching a DJ at a house party and has been mixing for more than twelve years. He left a corporate job to run it full time and plays around 70 to 80 weddings a year. His taste leans to house and disco, but sets move through pop, R&B and indie to suit the floor – the motto is more dance music, less pub rock. If Josh is already booked, a handful of associate DJs, each with over a decade of experience, play with the same booth, speakers and planning process. Couples know from the start which DJ they are getting, and that DJ is not swapped out later. Several of the associates also MC. Prices are all listed on the site. A five-hour reception set with Josh is $3,850, or $3,300 and up with a team DJ. Larger packages add MC duties, neon tube lighting, a recording of the set and, at the top end, ceremony and canape music plus moving heads and haze. Every booking includes a custom DJ booth, a wireless microphone and a PA sized for 150 guests inside (or 100 in the open air), with a stainless steel booth and bigger speaker system as an upgrade. Planning runs on a set timeline: a run sheet session if Josh is MC, a music questionnaire about four months out, and a music planning call around six weeks before the wedding. A $1,000 deposit secures the date, with the balance due a month out and payment plans available on request.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Married to the Groove charge for a wedding?
Team DJ packages start at $3,300. Josh's own five-hour reception set is $3,850, Package Two, which bundles MC hosting, neon tubes and a set recording, is $4,600, and the full-day Package One is $5,800, all including GST.
Will Josh be the DJ at our wedding?
Every package on the pricing page is Josh on the decks. If he is already booked, you are told which associate DJ is free from day one, and that DJ is not switched on you later.
What music does Married to the Groove play?
Josh's own leaning is house and disco, with pop, R&B and indie mixed in to match the dance floor. Cultural songs can be played as a short dedicated block or spread through the night.
Is MC hosting available?
Yes. MC duties are part of Packages One and Two, or $650 on top of Package Three, covering run sheet planning, coordination with the venue and other suppliers on the night, and hosting the reception.
What if we have more than 150 guests?
The standard speakers handle 150 people inside, or 100 in the open air. The stainless booth upgrade comes with a larger system for up to 250, and beyond that an outside AV company is brought in and quoted with the booking.
