About The Woodhouse Wollombi
The Woodhouse Wollombi is a family-owned wedding venue inside Redwood Park, a 100-acre property on Paynes Crossing Road about 3.5km from Wollombi village, at the southern entry to Hunter wine country. The owners have planted more than 9,500 trees around a central lake since buying the land, and each wedding has exclusive use of the grounds, so there are no other couples or outside guests on the day. The reception is held in The Woodhouse itself, a purpose-built timber hall with 7m ceilings, 4m windows over the gardens, a freestanding fireplace and a bar that serves both inside and out. It seats up to 150 for dinner. Big doors open to a courtyard, a firepit with built-in lounge seating and a large undercover dance floor strung with fairy lights, which also serves as the wet-weather ceremony spot. Above the lake, a vine-covered terrace with its own bar handles post-ceremony drinks and can seat 60 for a smaller outdoor reception. Couples choose from five ceremony settings, including The Willows by the water and an Infinity Lawn. Fennel & Co is the exclusive caterer, cooking seasonal menus from local produce. The venue is not BYO; drinks run as packages charged per guest by the hour, or on consumption up to a limit you set, and guests can buy spirits and cocktails at the bar. A commercial sound and PA system is installed, an event manager supervises the day, and functions end by 11pm. Up to 33 guests can stay on the estate across The Barnstay, The Soho Suite and eight off-grid eco suites.
