About Stonehurst Cedar Creek

Stonehurst Cedar Creek is a fifth-generation family farm and organic vineyard on Wollombi Road at Cedar Creek, a few minutes from Wollombi village. The 550-acre property takes in vines, creek flats and bush-covered ranges, and the family hire it out for weddings. Couples have the event areas to themselves for the day, and cellar door visitors are kept out of the wedding space. Ceremony spots include The Grove under ornamental pear trees, several creekside clearings near the stone causeway, and the Cottage Vineyard looking across the Shiraz rows to the hills. Receptions usually move to The Wine Cellar, a converted warehouse with 22-foot ceilings, steel beams, a wall of barrels and timber doors opening onto The Grove. It seats 100, or holds 150 standing, while the estate can take 150 using its outdoor areas. The Pavilion among the poplars is the covered wet-weather option and also works for open-air dining. There is no in-house kitchen and no set caterer, so couples bring whoever they like – food trucks, wood-fired pizza or a long plated menu. All wine and sparkling must come from the Stonehurst range, while beer, cider and spirits are brought in by the couple and poured by RSA-licensed bar staff. The venue supplies ceremony and reception furniture, sets up to your plan, coordinates on the day and packs down afterwards. Seven self-contained cottages on site sleep up to 28 guests, and weekend weddings include two nights of accommodation.
