About The George Tavern
The George Tavern is a large, modern pub on Molly Morgan Drive in East Maitland, with a bistro open daily from 11.30am, a sports bar with a six-metre screen, a bottle shop and regular live music. It pitches itself at families, friends and workmates, and its function offer covers birthdays, engagement parties, corporate gatherings and family celebrations. There are three areas for functions. The Courtyard is the private option, with its own bar, TVs and audio, holding 50 people cocktail-style or 40 seated. The front terrace is an outdoor beer garden with several screens, taking up to 70 standing or 40 seated. The bistro lounge is an indoor space for seated functions of up to 40. Each area can be served from the function menu, and the enquiry form lets you nominate which one you want. The function menu is built for grazing and sharing. Canapés run from camembert crostini, bruschetta and pumpkin arancini to fish bites, prawn dumplings and chicken kiev balls, with party pies and sausage rolls for the classic crowd. Premium bites include pulled pork bao, scallop spoons, smoked salmon blinis, Peking duck pancakes and lamb koftas, and there are cheeseburger, chicken and halloumi sliders, mini bowls of butter chicken, Thai beef salad and pumpkin risotto, plus brownies and banana dumplings. Platters cover grazing, fruit, seafood, sandwiches and a hot sharing mix. The team handles the clean-up, and drink packages are available.
