About The Dining Room @ The Pourhouse
The Pourhouse is a bar and bistro at 327 High Street in Maitland, set in the old Exchange Hotel, which first opened in 1866 and spent years as an antique shop before two friends turned it back into a pub. It is known for its craft beer list and cocktails, and the kitchen makes its food in-house, from pub classics to share plates built on local and native produce. The Dining Room is the venue's space for bigger groups. It seats about 40, or holds up to 60 people standing, and sits close enough to the front bar that guests still feel part of the night rather than shut away. The room has timber tables, framed pictures and a warm, lived-in feel. For a smaller occasion, the Whisk(e)y Room takes up to 15. The beer garden handles groups of up to 80, with umbrellas, a fire pit and a vintage caravan bar that needs to be booked ahead, and the front bar fits about 70 around its 10 taps and cocktail station. With enough notice and a deposit, several areas together or the whole building can be reserved. Functions can take the shape of canapés with cocktails, a seated meal served at the table, or easygoing drinks with food. Live music plays in the front bar on Friday and Saturday nights and can be arranged at other times for a function. Function enquiries go to the events team by phone, email or social media.

This pub has a great range of food and drinks, the service is really good😘 Make sure you book (by phone is best) if you want to reserve a table, it gets pretty busy, for good reasons. Must go place in Maitland.

Lovely old Art Deco pub in Maitland. I had the pakora veggie burger and it was absolutely delicious. I appreciate that care and thought has gone into the vegetarian options. We will be back.
