About Bistro Molines
Bistro Molines sits on Tallavera Grove Vineyard at 749 Mount View Road, looking out over rows of vines and the surrounding valley. Chef Robert Molines, with head chef Garreth Robbs, runs a kitchen rooted in the food of Provence, using local, in-season produce and herbs and vegetables from the garden beside the kitchen. Day to day the restaurant serves lunch from Thursday to Monday and dinner on Saturday nights. The building suits a gathering: a dining room with French country touches, a semi-private sunroom, and verandahs that wrap around the restaurant behind floor-to-ceiling concertina glass doors, plus a courtyard draped in wisteria and surrounded by roses. Long European-style tables seat up to 90 for a sit-down meal, and a cocktail-style event can take 90 to 130 guests. The bistro will open outside its normal hours for private functions, corporate groups and weddings, and ceremonies can be held on site with the vineyard as a backdrop. Menus change with the season. The standard format is two courses for $110 per person or three for $140, each including bread and a canape, and dietary needs can be catered for with notice. The wine list leans local, with reds, whites, sparkling and dessert wines. For a private event or a group of more than ten, contact the team directly; a two-bedroom cottage on the property is available for anyone wanting to stay the night.
