About Married By Max
Max is a young marriage celebrant working across the Hunter region who first took on the role to marry two of his closest friends, and found he loved it. A lawyer in his day job, he spends plenty of time speaking in public and promises the paperwork will be right. His style is relaxed and friendly, aiming for the feeling that a good mate is marrying you rather than a stranger. There are three ways to book him. The Shotgun suits couples who simply want to be married: you meet to finalise the paperwork, bring up to ten close family and friends a month later, and he provides a short ceremony, guidance on your legal obligations, a PA with Bluetooth and a cordless microphone, and lodgement of the documents, including the official certificate from BD&M. The Classic adds a ceremony written entirely around your relationship and as many guests as you like, plus ceremony coordination: settling nerves, rounding up stray relatives, entertaining the crowd before the entrance and keeping the timing on track. The Top Shelf includes everything in The Classic and adds a full MC service through the reception, keeping proceedings roughly on time, keeping the conversation flowing, putting chosen guests on the spot and gently closing out long speeches. Past couples have booked him for both roles at the same wedding. Travel anywhere in the Lower Hunter is included in all packages, and Max is happy to discuss ceremonies further afield when you get in touch.

What are Married By Max's packages?

Is travel to Hunter Valley venues included?
Travel within the Lower Hunter is included in every package. For weddings further away, mention it when you enquire and Max will discuss it with you.
Can Max be our MC as well as our celebrant?
Yes. The Top Shelf package adds reception MC duties: keeping the schedule broadly on track, hosting the night and keeping speeches moving.
Does Max bring a sound system?
Yes. A professional PA with Bluetooth and a cordless microphone is included, so guests can hear the ceremony and you can play music through it.
